Love to sew? - Hate putting in zippers?

here are some easy steps for zipper placement!

No pins, no muss no fuss! - I LOVE IT!

A little background -
One day while attempting to put a zipper in a vest - I used a little stitch witch seam tape to hold the zipper in place
Well - From that day on, I do not do any more pinning!
I did however skip a little but from the pictures you can get the gist of what I am trying to accomplish!

Before attaching the zipper, I folded over the outer edge, pressed it flat, then used hem tape to hold it in place

First -
Place the garment on the ironing board, making sure the tops match

Second place a piece of "Hem Tape" the length of the zipper making sure not to get into or near the teeth.

Third - Pull the garment so the sides touch but not overlap

Placing the Tape close to the edge iron from the opposite side be careful not to gum up your iron.

Make sure the edges are straight

When both sides are finished, go over the zipper a couple of times to insure the adhesive has stuck to the garment and zipper

This is directly after being done, allow to cool so the adhesive is not gummy and will not pull loose

As you can see, this zipper is neatly in place and 1/2 unzipped - notice I have not yet stitched it to the garment.
